I love my new (actually old) chair!

I bought this old chair several months ago at a garage sale for $20. I had been looking for a small comfortable chair to put in front of my window in the living room. This one was just right because the back is low and doesn't cover up the view to the backyard too much. Of course, I knew I'd recover it someday or maybe make a slipcover for it. So, I had been looking at this ugly dated fabric for long enough and told my husband we were going to try to reupholster it ourselves. Well, actually I told him I was going to do it, but he knows by now that he will be very much involved in most projects I undertake. I saw two chairs on A Santamaker's Journey blog that she had redone and fell in love with the fabrics and knew I wanted to copy what she did. Those chairs are GORGEOUS! I told myself to go for it and not play it safe by doing the chair in some fabric that I didn't really love. You know how you think to yourself, "Am I going to like this in a year or two? Shouldn't I go neutral so I can use this in any room?". I said NO, I am going to redo this chair in fabrics that I love right now and not worry about the future. I want this chair to be CUTE CUTE CUTE! So, here is my recovered garage sale chair in all its glory. I love it! I have to say thank you and send big hugs and kisses to my wonderful husband who helped me. Well, he really did it and I helped him. I got me one awesome husband! I love my chair and am just giddy when I look at it every time I walk through the room. I am so happy when a project turns out the way you want it to! Happy Tuesday to you!

Your chair looks adorable!

I'd love to do that type of mixed fabric look to my chair. There are no upholsterers in my area and I am afraid to attempt it myself.

How did you learn?

Bear is up and going today! The puppy in him just wants to play and we have to be careful with him for a little longer (2 more days). He will be so glad to be able to run around when he gets to! :o)
