Camera Cord Problems

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did! I still have all my decorations up, but will probably start taking them down this weekend. I like to enjoy them for as long as I can since I work so hard putting them out! I am having trouble posting pictures because the cord to my camera is messed up. The plug in thingy got bent after I dropped it so my husband ordered me something else to hopefully make it work. So, I'll be back some time this week when I am able to show pictures. I have missed all y'all and am ready to see new posts and projects! I was suffering from withdrawals last week!

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!!

The Story of Christmas
By Marian L. Moore

The beautiful story of Christmas
Again is retold upon earth,
A story of peace and good will toward men
Through the wonderful gift of Christ's birth.

The weary world pauses to listen
Once more, as the story is told,
And songs of the angels re-echo
Again, as in ages of old.

Trouble and cares are forgotten
Just now in this moment of time;
God's grace and the care of His children
Are a part of that gift, most divine.

So then let the story of Christmas
Its wonderful message impart,
And the year ahead filled with gladness
Bring God's love and peace to your heart.

I am loving polka dots!

Lately I have found myself being drawn to things with polka dots on them the way I am to toiles and checks. Polka dots are so cute and whimsical and easy to paint! I had this green metal pot and saw it in my closet last night and thought it might look good sporting some dots. Carrie at Buzzings of a Queen Bee did one so I got the idea from her. I grabbed the pot, painted on it, filled it with some greenery and berries, and put it on my kitchen desk. I like how it turned out! Some of the other things below I have already shown like my polka dot tree topper and T canvas I made. The S is a Christmas present for my Mom. The last pic shows some polka dot scrapbook paper I got at Hobby Lobby that I'll use scrapbooking and also for projects. I am wanting to add some polka dots to every room! I'm going to have to come up with some polka dot accessories to make!

And Still More Christmas

I thought I'd wrap up my Christmas home tour since there are only 5 more days until Christmas. I can't believe it will all be over next week. Waaaaaaah! That's me crying because I love Christmas and want all the lights and decorations to stay up a while longer because I just love them! I can't help it - I'm like a little kid!

I think I've shown you just about all my Christmas stuff except what's outside, which isn't all that much. I wish I had some projects to show you, but I haven't been doing any. I have a list of ones that I wanted to do, but just never got around to it and don't see the point now that Christmas is almost here. I need to be doing some major cleaning since we are having family over for lunch on Thursday. Anybody want to come over and clean my bathrooms?!

Christmas in My Living Room Part 1

Here are pictures of some of the Christmas decorations in my living room. I won't bore you with a lot of details, but I do want to mention the box that my tree is sitting in. First I wanted it in an urn, but didn't want to have to go buy one so I told my husband to build a box for it. He thought I wanted it to look like a gift box and I really wanted it to look like a planter box painted white with molding on it. Well, he built me just a plain box and suggested I cover it with fabric. He knows I love me some fabric! So, I bought this red paisley fabric that I had been eyeing for a while at Joanns and we stapled it to the box. I am really happy with how it came out and glad we didn't go with my original plan. So, I have to give my sweet husband credit for the cute tree box. I'll shut up now and let you look at the pictures. Part 2 on Wed.!

Cheap and Easy Stockings

I have had these el cheapo felt stockings for a few years and thought I'd dress them up and try to make them look a little cuter. So, I cut some of my favorite fabrics (toile and checks of course), hot glued them on, and then trimmed them out with some lime green ribbon. They look much better than they did before! They would be even cuter with some nicer trim, like one with beads or tassels, but I was just using what I had and I like the red and lime green together. Check back with me tomorrow afternoon for a tour of my Christmas decor in my living room!

Christmas in My Dining Room

Here is my dining room all dressed up for Christmas. For those of you who look closely and inspect pictures like I do you will be able to see that I have some painting to do. The bottom part of the wall under the chair rail in the right side of the room is an olive green color. I have got to paint it the same as the top like I did in the rest of the room. I started it a few months ago and never came back to it. I am not very fond of painting. I'm O.K. for a while, but I lose steam quickly and just want it to be finished. I'll get to it probably this weekend. I love my deer on the table that I got at Michaels. He was just right to use as a centerpiece. As you can probably tell from what I've shown so far, I like to use a lot of lights around. They just make everything look pretty and Christmasy. My husband was so cute today. He came home for lunch and was disappointed that I didn't have all the lights turned on. He told me he wants them on when he comes home. Isn't that sweet? He enjoys them as much as I do!
