I bought this tray for $2 at a yard sale Saturday knowing I would paint it and try to make it more my style. I painted it black, cut some fabric and glued it down, cut out a rooster from an old calendar page and glued him down, and cut some ribbon to go all the way around and glued it down. I used stuff I already have because I didn't want to go out and buy anything. I think it turned out pretty cute. I'll use it in my kitchen somewhere. This is the first of many tray transformations I'll be doing because I bought 9, yes NINE, trays on Saturday. I know I'm probably crazy, but most of them were 25 or 50 cents. One was only ten cents. I love trays and they are easy to redo. I've got to look through my decorating books and magazines for some ideas on what to do with all of them. I'm proud of myself that I did something crafty today. It makes me want to do more!

Angie, They look great. You could also use scrapbook paper or maybe even fabric...or do a monogram with a sharpie or use those rub on quotes. Deana
