Birdcage Lamp

I went to a few antique stores recently and was so excited to find this birdcage stand for $20. I thought that was a pretty good price since I have seen them for way more than that. I intended to hang a chandelier from it, but then remembered the birdcage lamp my husband made. It used to be in my living room and got put up in the attic when I changed some things around. I got it down and hung it on the stand and am so happy with this cute new addition to my kitchen. I have got to get hubby to disguise the cord that hangs down. Cords are such a pain, aren't they? I usually turn the lamp on around suppertime and leave it on until I go to bed. I love seeing it on when the rest of the kitchen is dark. I know y'all understand little things like lamps that make you happy. Wishing you a wonderful Wed.!

Love these Fake Hydrangeas

I am loving these fake hydrangeas I bought at Michaels. I got 4 bunches of them - 2 for my front door and 2 for my kitchen table. They are $3.99 each this week (60% off $9.99). They had them in blue too, but I decided on the purple. I think they are so pretty! Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Living Room Part 1

I have been making a few changes in my living room trying to get more of the French country look I love. I won't bore you with all the details, but I will say I have just shopped the house and used things from other rooms or that I had in closets or the attic. Tell me if I am showing you too many full shots and not enough close-ups of stuff. I am not as good with the photography like some of you are. Hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thrifty Finds

I am joining the party over at Southern Hospitality to share my thrifty finds I scored on Saturday. It was a great yard sale day and I am very happy with the things I bought. I spent a total of $24.75 on the things below. The most expensive was the fabric I got for $10 (last picture). Love the big checks! It is nice and heavy and there is lots of it. You'll be seeing it in the future, probably on some pillows, curtains, and who knows what else. I was thrilled to get the floral tole tray (first picture) for $1. I have been wanting one so bad. Here is a breakdown of the other prices:
*poppies picture - $1
*6 placemats - $1
*2 fruit plates - $3
*placemat and 4 napkins - $2.50
*3 planters - $4
*little deer - 25 cents
*Spode plate - $2
I am so glad it is yard sale season again! Aren't you?!

My New Favorite Spot

I think this is my new favorite little spot in my house. It sat empty for a while after Christmas when the tree came down and then I decided to move this dresser ($5 yard sale find) from the kitchen into the living room. I added the toile curtains last week and showed y'all the plates around the fleur de lis the other day. You can see I switched out the black and cream toile plates for the green bunny ones. It will be fun changing the accessories to suit my mood or whatever season it is. Hope your week is going well and that you have a terrific Tuesday!

Framed Initial in Foyer

I hung this T in my foyer (it was in the living room) by itself and then decided it needed a little something else. So I got out a yard sale frame, spray painted it red, and hung it to frame the initial. Hope y'all have a Good Friday and a very Happy Easter!
