Antique Radio Cabinet

I am so happy with the way my radio cabinet turned out! I wasn't sure about painting it, but now I am glad I did. It feels good to get a project finished. Now on to another one!

Two "In the Works" Projects

Here are two projects I have been working on and will hopefully finish this week. I have a tendency to be all gung ho in the beginning and then lose steam and take forever to finish. Ya know? The first is an old radio cabinet I bought for $5 at a yard sale last summer. This picture is after I already started painting it.

The second is a mural in my son's bedroom. It is definitely not professional by any means, but my husband and I are doing it and that makes it extra special.

I will show you both projects when they are finished. Have a terrific Tuesday friends!!!

Decorating My Entertainment Center

I have a pretty large 3 piece entertainment center in my living room which I have been working on changing out some of the accessories on the shelves. I am enjoying going through my arsenal of decorations and putting out different things. I am trying to incorporate more black and white and also some green in the room. I glued this red cross to a $1 yard sale charger plate and love how it turned out. Kind of funky and that's what I was wanting.

I also made this initial plaque from a yard sale frame and wood T from Hobby Lobby.

I am trying to use what I have and be creative. I have plenty of yard sale purchases that are just waiting to be transformed. I'm sure many of you can relate! Hope you have a wonderful Wed.!

Chicken Wire Basket

I bought this chicken wire basket for 50 cents at a yard sale this weekend. I spray painted it black and it is now on my kitchen table holding seashells and reminding me of fun trips to the beach. Happy Monday to you!

Burlap Gone for Now, Beloved Toile is Back

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions about the burlap valance. I have taken it down for now and put back up my beloved toile. I did make a change though because this is the old red and cream toile I used to have in here, not the gold and red. I'll probably switch back and forth between the two toiles since I love them both. I can't help it - I love pattern! Plain is so not for me! Have a wonderful Wed. everyone!

Burlap Window Treatment

I put this burlap on my kitchen window the other day and am still trying to decide whether or not to leave it up. I like it, but I miss my toile that I love so much! I think I want something different, but then I think it probably looked better before. I used some animal print ribbon to tie up the burlap. In the last picture you can see I am also thinking about using the red and white checks. I am such a pattern girl that it is hard for me to have a solid anything. I do like the texture and country feel of the burlap. Any opinions? I'll let ya know what I decide. Sorry for the dark pics!

Animal Print Wall Pocket

I decided to dress up this silver wall pocket hanging in my kitchen with some fabric. I decided on an animal print because I wanted something a little different. Do you ever feel like your home decor is too predictable and coordinated and everything is looking the same? That is how I've been feeling lately. Anyway, I just hot glued on the fabric and some ribbon and I have a new piece. I am looking forward to a great weekend and hopefully the sun will come out since it hasn't all week! Have a good one!

Kitchen Cabinet Brackets

We recently added these shelf brackets underneath some of the cabinets in the kitchen. I have seen this idea in books and magazines and also on some blogs. I LOVE how it turned out!!! The brackets are about $10 each from Lowe's and they come unfinished. I painted them and my hubby installed them. I think it gives the cabinets some needed detail and looks cottagey with the beadboard backsplash. Have a great day everybody!
