A Little Fall Decorating

I am slowly putting out my fall decorations and having fun with it. I don't have a whole lot of stuff so I don't feel overwhelmed like I do at Christmas. I love my wreath holder I got several months ago. This is the first time I have used it. My mom found the wreath in a friend's trash. I got it from her and just stuck some flowers and leaves I had in it until I was satisfied with how it looked. The middle looked bare so I took a Dollar Tree plaque I had and made it into a chalkboard with that AWESOME chalkboard paint. Love that stuff!

I was so happy y'all liked my framed pumpkin project in my previous post. You made me feel so good with all those great comments! The very quick and easy instructions are:
* Put some cute paper in a frame. I left out the glass.
*Cut the pumpkin in half with a knife. Mine had styrofoam inside (as most probably do) and was very easy to cut.
* Hot glue the pumpkin to the paper in the frame.
It took me all of 5 minutes, if that. I am all about fast projects! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. It is actually feeling like fall here where I live in the deep South and I am loving it!

Framed Pumpkin

Do y'all remember the framed pear I did a while back? Well, now I have framed a pumpkin. I just did this little project standing in my kitchen while my son was eating a snack. I had to post it right now 'cause I was excited! Pretty cute, don't ya think?!

Recovered Shade and Clock

I don't have much to show today. I recovered this lampshade I got from a yard sale with some fabric and trim I had and moved this clock to the hallway from the dining room. I love changing things around for a new look! Have a great Thursday!

Footboard into Chalkboard

This is my latest project that I am so happy about. I totally copied this from ones I saw on other blogs so I cannot take credit for the great idea. I had this footboard left over from a bed I got for $7 from Goodwill. I used the headboard on my guest bedroom bed (click here to see) and decided to make a chalkboard out of the footboard. It is hanging over the desk in my kitchen. I love it! It's so much fun doing a cheap and easy project like this one and have it actually turn out right. Happy Monday and 1st day of Fall to y'all!

Kitchen Changes in Progress

I am still trying to get my kitchen back together after painting it last week. I have to admit I loved the change at first, but now am kinda missing the red walls. Second guessing myself is so what I do! I drive myself crazy! I like it, I guess I just have to get used to it again. It's the same color I had before the red. The color is not as yellow and intense as it looks in pictures. I made the valance from a Waverly tablecloth I got from a yard sale last year. I have 2 other toile valances and I may put one of them back up when I want a change. I keep telling myself I am going to quit buying rooster stuff and it's like I can't help myself. I love roosters, but don't want a "rooster kitchen" - ya know? O.K., now I am rambling and I need to go to bed. Have a great Thursday everybody!

Love this Yard Sale Find!

I bought this pedestal piece several months ago at a yard sale. It was brown wood and I painted it black. As you can see, I have it on my kitchen table holding a ceramic artichoke. I love this piece and am planning on trying to make a few like it for other rooms in my house. It has so many possibilities! It would be great with a cloche over it too. I have finished painting my kitchen and am trying to get stuff back on the walls and on my shelves. Of course, you know I can't have it back exactly the way it was. I have got to change some things. Have a great Monday!

Painting the Kitchen

This is what I started doing last night and will be working on today. I have been wanting to paint over the red in my kitchen for a while now and finally decided on the paint and to go ahead with it. I am going back to the exact gold/yellow color I had before I painted the red. I am so excited because now my red stuff will show up so much better! Anybody want to come and help?

Sunflower Arrangement

Recently I made this sunflower and fern arrangement and put it on the antique dresser in my living room. It makes me smile and reminds me fall is coming!

An Old Window

This window has been a bulletin board in my kitchen (the first 2 pictures) and this weekend I removed the cork and fabric and it now has a burlap back and star hanging on it (last 2 pictures). I am really liking the way it looks. Now I am trying to come up with something to hang above it. It seems I am never satisfied with my kitchen and am always changing something. It is so fun and I love doing it so what the heck! Hope you have a fun and safe Labor Day!

Framed Rooster Print

I thought the dry sink in my dining room needed a little something on it so I took a frame I had, stuck a bow on it (black and white ribbon of course), and put a rooster picture from a calendar in it. I have talked before how much I love using calendar prints as artwork. I got the rooster calendar for $1 from Michaels and the Tuscan one for $1.50 from Big Lots. There are great pictures in both of them! I have a drawer full of calendars and love to change out my frames often. So cheap and easy!

Front Door Planters

I changed out the flowers in the planters on my front door to something more fall-like. I got these mums (I guess that's what they are) at Michaels. I like the gold color against my red doors. I'll be getting my fall stuff down in the next few weeks and start putting it out. Can't wait to see everybody's decorations and get some good ideas!

A Couple of Vignettes

I love to "play house" and change my accessories around like many of you do. It's probably my most favorite thing to do! Here are 2 new vignettes - one in my foyer and one in my dining room. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
