A Couple of Easy Patriotic Projects

I did two easy projects this afternoon to add to my patriotic decorations. Pretty self-explanatory, spray painted the tray and frame and then added scrapbook paper. I really don't know how I lived before scrapbook paper. I totally love it! Hobby Lobby has it half off this week if you need some. Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

More Patriotic Decor

I am still putting out some patriotic decorations, although I don't have much. I used to decorate a lot with Americana type stuff so I still have some of that. This plate is one of a 4 piece set by Warren Kimble. I love his artwork! Have a great day!

Goodwill Bed

I bought this single bed for $7 at Goodwill. I was so excited because I had been looking for one for my guest bedroom/office. I added two finials on the posts, a medallion in the center, and then spray painted it black. I am thrilled with how it turned out. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Try to stay cool!

Spiders Everywhere

I thought I'd show some of my spider plants since someone (sorry, can't remember who) was talking about them on their blog and how easy they are to grow. I love flowers, but prefer to have more greenery type plants because they are easier to take care of and look pretty good all the time. These do put out stalks with little flowers on them. They do well in pots and in the ground. Low maintenance is the reason I love them!

Patriotic/Summer Decor

This is a piece I have in my living room that I usually decorate for whatever holiday/season we are in. Right now I have some patriotic and Summer things on it.

I hung a flag plaque on my planter chair at my backdoor. I plan on putting out a few more things that I'll show you later. Have a marvelous Monday everyone!!!

Headboard Amongst the Vines

I spent a good chunk of time yesterday cutting the vines around my patio trying to get to this old iron headboard. The greenery had grown around it and covered it up. I haven't seen it in several years and had about forgotten it was there! This greenery grows like crazy during the summer and my husband has to trim it often to keep it tamed. I love it though because it stays green all year long. I thinned it out some, but he still has a lot to cut. I want to get some flowers to pot and do some decorating outside. I have seen some beautiful outdoor areas on people's blogs which serve as great inspiration! Happy Wednesday to you!

Grocery Store Clock

Can you believe I got this cool clock from Winn Dixie? I saw it on the wall when I walked in and had to get it. It is pretty big and was only $12.99. I told the checkout girl I never thought I'd be buying a clock at a grocery store! Have a terrific Tuesday everybody!

New Arrangement on Kitchen Wall

I have changed what I have on this wall in my kitchen several times and am finally pretty satisfied with what I've done. Maybe I'll leave it like this for a while. I had my husband cut a long shutter in half (bought for $1 at a yard sale) and I dry brushed some apple green paint over the black. Then I added some cute knobs from Hobby Lobby so I can hang stuff from it. I hung a framed calendar print above the shutter. I love that I can easily change out what have hanging on the knobs and also the picture. I have lots of calendars that I buy for the prints in them. Hope y'all are having a great Monday!

A Couple of Easy Redoes

I bought this silver tray and lemon topiary with a broken pot on Sat. from yard sales. I paid 50 cents for the tray and $1 for the topiary. I spray painted the tray (even though I do like the silver) and then put a piece of scrapbook paper in the center. I just taped it instead of gluing it so I can change it when I want. For the topiary, I broke off the rest of the terra cotta pot and put it in a little 10 cents urn I had and added some moss. Love quick and easy projects like these!

Yard Sale Finds

I did pretty good again at yard sales on Saturday. The total I spent on all the stuff below is $10.10. I have redone a few things already that I'll show you tomorrow. Have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Kitchen Table Centerpiece

I change what I have on my kitchen table pretty often. This is what I have on there right now. I got the idea of using the clock as a base from Joys of Home (joysofhome.blogspot.com) and also from For the Love of My Home and Life (fortheloveofmyhome.blogspot.com). I have had this clock and it never worked right so I took the mechanism off and am using it kind of like a tray. I love green pottery pieces like this pitcher and am always on the lookout for them. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to going to some yard sales tomorrow!

Framed Pear Project

This is a quick little project I did yesterday while in my kitchen waiting for my chicken to cool off so I could cut it up and put in the chicken pot pie I was making for supper. I cut a styrofoam pear in half with a knife and glued it on some scrapbook paper and put it in a frame. I actually put the paper in the frame first and then glued the pear on the paper (no glass). I am not good at explaining things, but I'm sure you already know that. I love the way it turned out! I was thinking you could even use a bigger frame and more pears or any other fruit of your choice. Lots of possibilities! Let me know if you make one too!
