Burlap Window Treatment

I put this burlap on my kitchen window the other day and am still trying to decide whether or not to leave it up. I like it, but I miss my toile that I love so much! I think I want something different, but then I think it probably looked better before. I used some animal print ribbon to tie up the burlap. In the last picture you can see I am also thinking about using the red and white checks. I am such a pattern girl that it is hard for me to have a solid anything. I do like the texture and country feel of the burlap. Any opinions? I'll let ya know what I decide. Sorry for the dark pics!

Burlap is very in now! Maybe you could put your toile back up in the fall and use the burlap only in the warmer months. I like the burlap with the checked ribbon, it's a great look.

I like the burlap and with the animal print ribbon. Not so much the red checked ribbon. But I agree with Debra, I'd put the toile back up and save the burlap for fall.

The burlap is pretty but rather rustic. I think I like the toile better with the other colors and patterns in the room.

Thank you for telling me where to find the cabinets post in your blog. As always I LOVE your decorating!

I like what you did with the burlap but went back to find a picture of your toile and I like the toile better. I think the print of the toile is very warm and comforting.

I know what you mean about solids!! It's so hard for me to! I am a pattern girl!!! I do like the burlap for summer and I like the red checked ribbon the best. Nancy

I love burlap, but I do love your toile too! I think swapping it out would be the best of both worlds!

I like the checked ribbon best!

I like 'em all! Have you thought of layering the toile and burlap together? I have the same toile valance in my kitchen - I LOVE it! As for the ribbon, burlap and animal print is just a great combination.

How about the burlap with toile ribbon, or a toile trim? I prefer the animal print ribbon...I like the black with the light brown burlap. I like your toile curtains best, but I like the burlap too. That's what's fun about decorating, you can change it up as much as you want. Just switch them out again after the summer.

I love the burlap! And I love it with the gingham ribbon, too. I think that toile will be able to stand the trend longer than the burlap, but I like Debra's idea of switching them out - fall to summer. Still, a great idea, and it looks fantastic.

I think the burlap with the checked ribbon looks very nice, but I'm a toile person myself. I also have a hard time with solid colors. I would agree with some of the others and switch them out. If you're like me, I just tend to get bored looking at the same thing day in and day out.

I, too, have trouble making up my mind on things. But, for what it's worth, I'm with the burlap for summer and go back to the toile for cooler months. I kind of like that burlap - and I'm voting for the check ribbon.

Love the toile...
:-)
If I hang something (wall or window change) and am ALREADY having doubts or second thoughts about it, I give it at least 24 hours just to let my eyes adjust to the change, before I give in and take it down...just to be sure it's not the "difference", but my instinct saying...no, not what I really wanted....
Looks cute, but the toile is "pretty"!

Leave it up-I love it! But go with the red ribbon :)

LOVE this! I'd keep the animal print ribbon. But then again...I am a sucker for anything animal print. The check is cute too, so you really can't go wrong.

I think they're both cute but I'm partial to the animal print ribbon :) You've got a great decorating style so whatever you decide is going to look wonderful!

Have an awesome day :)

You know, I know burlap is all the rage right now and I had full length burlap curtains about 10 years ago, but I just can't embrace it this time around! I can't understand why people want scratchy burlap pillows etc. The fibers float everywhere! I like pattern and you know I love toile!

I think your a toile girl at heart <3 I like both. Burlap is so in now but I'm sure is a fad and toile is not.

Hi! I stumbled across your blog and I am loving it! I just bought 3 yards of burlap and I'm trying to make a valance similar to yours for our newly redecorated French Country master bedroom. I have some French script aged ribbon I bought on Etsy to use to tie it up. I'm just wondering if you can give me any advice on how you made it? Thank you!!
