I am happily married with a wonderful husband, a precious four year old son, and two sweet dogs. I love to decorate my house and am always looking for inexpensive projects to tackle. My smart and handy husband always seems to get involved whether he wants to or not. I love to shop and go to yard sales with my mom to find really good deals. I am so blessed to be able to stay at home (my most favorite place to be) and take care of my family.
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions about the burlap valance. I have taken it down for now and put back up my beloved toile. I did make a change though because this is the old red and cream toile I used to have in here, not the gold and red. I'll probably switch back and forth between the two toiles since I love them both. I can't help it - I love pattern! Plain is so not for me! Have a wonderful Wed. everyone!
Gorgeous! I'm so glad you put back a toile! It looks so pretty! There are so many toiles to chose from these days. If your really want a more solid look you could go with a tone on tone toile. But I love this look!
you're so funny! I'm sure you'll find something useful for that burlap. I'm thinking about using yours and "Bungalow's" idea for turning my siver tray into a message board with chalkboard paint. I'll keep ya posted.
Hi Angie! I think the toile is soo much prettier! I agree on loving pattern especially toile! Burlap is popular now and looks good in many homes but for me its pattern! I can't get used to burlap inside the house???lol Sincerely, Jeannette
I loved both looks. But of course it is hard NOT to use toile if you have it...I love it so much too! Hopefully one of these days I will actually finish the toile curtains for my house too... Carrie
Okay, I have to be honest~ although the burlap is very sweet, the toile does seem more "you"! The valance is gorgeous in that room by the way, and I love the complementary edging on the bottom of the valance! So pretty! :)

I think it is always nice to have "options"! You can always change your window treatments with the seasons!
I like the toile much better too!!

I love toile but love the burlap, too. Hey -- use the burlap for fall decorating! It would be awesome with all of your autumn goodies out and about!

Very pretty!
I love the Toile too.
See, you learned something - or maybe just confirmed something you already knew. Either way, I like it, too.

Toile is so addicting. I adore your valance!

Other than gingham (red and white) I love toile (and the red type that you have is my favorite)
Love your blog! I just got a red toile valance with gingham on the trim for my kitchen and I LOVE it!
The toile rules.
