A Little Friday Night Project

I am working on this little project tonight. I am taking the swirly wrapping paper (look at the top shelf) down and putting some red and white checked fabric (look at the second shelf) on the backs of the open cabinet in my kitchen. I was going to go out tomorrow and buy some new fabric, but looked through my stash and found some and decided to go ahead and use it. I would really love some pretty toile wallpaper, but everything I see online is way more than I want to spend. So I'll just use what I already have. Hope you are having a great Friday and will have a fun weekend! I am looking forward to going to some yard sales tomorrow morning!

That looks great! I have red and cream checked fabric in the back of my red hutch. In my black hutch I have red toile fabric. The fabric is usually cheaper than wall paper. I used Waverly toile.

Penny

That will give you a nice fresh change! Have you looked at fabric.com? I just ordered a grey toile from them {hope it gets here soon} to do some kind of window valance on a small bathroom window.

I've never put anything in the back of mine. Can you give some advice on how you apply it? I have a family piece that's been passed down & I don't want to do anything that will damage or change the finish on it.

I love the new fabric too.

I like the check and it will change how everything looks.

That does look great and might be easier to put things with than a busier pattern would be. There's always another day to change it when the mood strikes you too. :)

You sound like me....always up for a project. I love that wrapping paper, I used it last year at Christmas but I think the red check will look just as cute. Have fun.

I love it! I'm thinking of doing that in my bookcase too. I read that you could attach the fabric to mat board so you doin't have to adhere it to the bookcase - so it could be changed. Is that what you did or do you have another suggestion?

We want to see when you're all finished! Gosh, I sound awfully demanding, don't I? Sorry. Just excited!

Yard sales? :( It's freezing here! I can't wait until spring. I am missing my yard sale-ing! :) I love the pattern you are using here. Pretty.

Happy Friday night to you, Angie! I like the checkered fabric in your cabinet; it is so pretty! Isn't it great when you can use what you already have on hand? I love when this happens! :)

I hope you have a fun weekend! :)

Hi Angie,
I love this idea too. I may try it one day.
Thank you so much for stopping by my animal blog, and leaving a comment. I know when it comes to farm animal issues, most people have no idea about the animal's suffering. The Agriculture Industry keeps it very hidden from the country. People have NO IDEA!!! that the animals they eat are secretly, severely mistreated their whole lives, until slaughter. When all the while they are just as intelligent and sociable as their dogs and cats. God bless you for caring.
