I changed out the print above my couch and also took down the plates and hung an iron piece. I have had that iron piece for a few years and it has been up in my attic. I really like it between the shutters. I'm not sure I like the print in that light colored frame though. I may have to age it a little more to darken it. I have been thinking about hanging something on each shutter, like a wall pocket or lamp sconce. Any ideas?

That looks really nice. I think wall sconces would look really good on the shutters.
I like it very much!

Changing things up is one of my favorite pastimes! I'm loving the shutters. I just got some awesome ones at a garage sale and I'm currently looking for the perfect spot to hang them. I think I would definitely darken the frame. Then it will be perfect!
I love the shutters! I agree that sconces would look nice on them.
Oh I love it. I think it looks just wonderful now.
Little wreaths hung with ribbon on the shutters?
Love it! I've just got to get some shutters. They just add so much texture and give the added over time look.
I just love the shutters "as is".
Spray paint some cute plate holders and add a couple of really cute plates. It looks really cute.
I like this look! How about taking photos of flowers, or just running the vintage clip art ones off on your printer if you don't have flowers to take photos of, and sticking them in between your shutters here and there? It would run with your roses theme, which I like, by the way, between the dark shutters. Just a passing thought...

I think either one would look good - the sconces or wall pockets :) I have 2 matching floral arrangements in wall pockets hanging on my shutters right now (above the computer desk). Your iron piece looks great :)
Have a great evening!

I like it alot...how about some planters with Ivy hanging down to soften the shutters. I just love greenery! I love your shutters!
Oh you know I love it!! I love everything you do!!
I think sconces would be beautiful!

I think what you did is really cute. Perhaps adding something the same or similar color of the frame to each shutter will balance it out so that you don't have to do anything more with the frame.
Hi Angie... I really love your new arrangement... it is beautiful!

That looks really great! I love the shutters just as they are with the picture and the metal piece. I love visiting your blog, you have such great decorating ideas!
Angie I love the black shutters and then the black iron piece above the picture. Then you have that cute little lamp to the side with the black. You got it goin' on girlfriend. Love the little bits and pieces of black in there....you've done a great job.
Blessings,
Debbie
I really like this Ang. It adds a lot of height to that wall. I also like how the black iron piece plays off of the black shutters. Guess what? I'm moving! My husband got a new job in KY and we'll be moving as soon as our house sells. I can already tell you that I'll be spending many a night purusing your blog to get ideas for my new house!
Looks cute! It's fun to change things around with stuff you already have. I think hanging something on the shutters would be cute!

I love it just the way it is!
I like the light color between the shutters. Almost makes me feel that I am looking out a window. Very pretty. laurie
I love the new arrangement, and how it all fits together so perfectly! I think that sconces would look wonderful on the shutters, and I also liked the idea from one of your comments which suggested little wreaths hung up by ribbon...that got me thinking! :) I hope you are having a great week!
I love those shutters with the picture , Im going tohave to do that in our living room! What a great idea! Thanks :)
Stephanie

Would be cute to do the plates on top of the shutters.
Wow, this is beautiful! Really very eye-catching! I love it!
I love your arrangements! I have two toddlers, so I'm in the "clean table" phase of my life. I can't wait until I can decorate below 4 feet! Thanks for sharing.
I'd love to see that framed picture on the wall close up.
