Another Look for My Mantel

Most of you liked the star I showed yesterday and some of you gave great suggestions. I took the window, star, and white plates down and put my old, faithful bunny picture that I've had for close to 10 years back up there to see if I liked it better than the star. I also added 2 toile plates out of my dining room. I still want opinions. Y'all have such great taste and I like to hear what others think, as long as you're nice about it and of course all of you always are! Is this more me? I know it's really symmetrical, but I have trouble doing anything but the same on each side.

I love this, and I would love to have that picture. Where did you get that?? I love rabbits and that is just the picture I would love to have. I like the star but I like this better. Katie

Oh, this looks really nice! I like the way the plates pop against the red!
No wonder you've kept that picture for so long. It is really cute!

I think this is the first time I've posted on your blog. I really love the bunny picture and the plates! It's just a great look all together.

I think I like this better...so traditional and sometimes the barn stars remind me a little too much of country. Probably because I am from Texas and they are ususally accompanied with boots and spurs.

Heather said...

I like this better, but I'm a little obsessed with anything toile at the moment!

Oh I love the bunny picture! The star on the window was cute too but I am partial to things that looked aged & antique! Very different looks but that just means you can swap them out when the mood strikes! Love all your valentine decor too. Think I will need to put some out this year to give the Hubby a hint that "sweethearts day" is coming. haa! sending him a subconcious message! :) ~ Laurie

I am quite partial to this look!

I'm with everyone else...LOVE the bunny picture, plates and lamps. It makes the mantle look so warm and inviting. You can use the star somewhere else.♥

I'm kind of torn...they are both great! Just really different looks. That star is so unique, but the bunny picture is very pretty and brings more color. You have 2 great options there!

This is the bunny picture I have been looking for. I almost bought it years ago but didn't. I have regretted that decision. Can you tell me the name of the bunny picture?

Hugs,
Rebecca

The star, the star! Seriously, I am new to your blog-which is great by the way. I like both-but like the star the best.

I love the bunnies!!! They seem to "fit" better to me but I certainly can't decorate as well as you. Use what you like best but if you don't use the bunnies would you send them to me? ♥Sharon♥

I love it! I know what you mean about needing things symmetrical~ and it looks really nice that way how you put it together. I love, LOVE the plates~ they are so beautiful, and add such a nice element to the whole look! :) And oh, the bunnies picture is adorable~ so sweet. It all looks wonderful. :)

Ilove the current look, but I also loved yesterday's look.

I really like this option better...even though I absolutely love that star...but i think this option is more welcoming and warming....
I like the symmetry as well....but I do wonder what it would be like to throw that symmetry off....

Okay, I've got to say, I love the mantel this way! I love your bunny picture...have since the first time I saw it on your blog, and the plates are beautiful. The other look was great too, but I think this one is even better. :-)

Oh my, I guess I will be standing alone on this choice ... smile! I personally like the star. :o) Not that I don't like the bunny picture (you and I share the same bunny love) it is precious, but I am partial to white on red. I don't know what it is. :o) Both ways are lovely though!

Angie I love this too. Completely different looks. This one is defiantly softer. I love how you are always changing things up. So fun. Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I have had a totally crazy week. I am going to do better next week! Hope you have a great weekend.

Gosh, I'm sorry to say, but I love this one better than the last one. It just fits better in your home. And I totally understand about the symmetrical stuff. Somehow I managed to get my mantel asymmetrical but it wasn't without putting up and interal fight. Ahhh, the curses of loving interior design! ;) I say keep this one! LOVE IT!

Stacey @ The Blessed Nest said...

I really like both looks for your mantle! And if you just naturally gravitate/feel more comfortable with using symmetry, I say that you should do just that! :) And those plates today....lovely!!

I love your mantel! It's such a classic look! I really like the plates and the picture together!

Wendy said...

I like this look better. I am a very balanced person, so I like it a lot!

JudyBug said...

Love the mantel! I too have to have things symmetrical. I always think of "Monk" and OCD and have to admit...I like things "balanced".

Hi Angie! You asked about the glitter on my hearts...It's Martha Stewart glitter...arctic white fine. I got it at Michaels. I got the distressing ink there as well. It's Tea Dye by Ranger. Hope this helps.

For me, I like this look better b/c I like rabbits, and I like brown & white transferware. I liked the window, but didn't much care for the plain plates. The star was ok. Just my opinion.
