Kitchen Changes in Progress

I am still trying to get my kitchen back together after painting it last week. I have to admit I loved the change at first, but now am kinda missing the red walls. Second guessing myself is so what I do! I drive myself crazy! I like it, I guess I just have to get used to it again. It's the same color I had before the red. The color is not as yellow and intense as it looks in pictures. I made the valance from a Waverly tablecloth I got from a yard sale last year. I have 2 other toile valances and I may put one of them back up when I want a change. I keep telling myself I am going to quit buying rooster stuff and it's like I can't help myself. I love roosters, but don't want a "rooster kitchen" - ya know? O.K., now I am rambling and I need to go to bed. Have a great Thursday everybody!

Oh you r as crazy as me. I do it too then second guess myself. All my girlfriends keep saying, " How many times are you going to paint that room" Of course they never paint.... But it is a stress reliver for me to paint i have come to the realization. And it is a cheap way of change. You and i need t go to the ROOSTER addiction group. lol. mishelle

I love the tablecloth! You must bring more roosters back - I love what you've done but it's missing more of you!

I really love the yellow...looks great! (I know what you mean about how it looks in pics, though...it's sooo different in person!) You've got such a great sense of style, Angie...everything looks so nice!

Happy Thursday!

Hi Angie, I think the yellow is beautiful. I second guess myself all the time! I have a hard time commiting to a color, but sometimes you just need to rethink the accessories to make yourself happy. I have been not loving my yellow living room walls, they were too dark and just not right.I changed the curtains to a plain white instead of the dark print I had up and it changed the whole room! I love the accessories and curtains you have used since you painted but you might be happier with the yellow if you tweaked something else.

Oh it's so sweet! I love the yellow, the curtain, and the Bistro sign! Where did you find that sign? I know what you mean about roosters...I don't want to have a 'rooster' kitchen either but I can't help but love them and buy them. I have lots.

It looks great. I think you will love it during the dark, dreary winter months. (assuming you have those where you live!) Kmart and Sears just started carrying a Country Living line and I think it's Sears that has a red Rooster.

I really love your kitchen. It's bright, cheerful and cozy-all of the things a nice kitchen should be. I am painting over the red in my kitchen, too. It's nice, but I just feel like I'm getting tired of it.

Hi Angie~
WOW, it looks AMAZING! I love the yellow with the white on the bottom of the walls, and the window valance you created! I may have to "copy" you with how you did that, if you don't mind~ and of course, I will link it to you! How you decorated the room is wonderful! :)

I know what you mean when you said you tend to second guess yourself, I do that ALL the time, especially with paint! :)

I hope you are having a fantastic week! :)

Looks so cheerful and happy! I know what you mean about second guessing though, I totally agonize over paint colors!

I am the same way with painting and color. I want to change...but what if I don't like it as much! Your colors are wonderful and your decorating touches are enviable. Great work!

I just love what you did with the window. It's way to cute! I know what you mean about roosters...I'm the same way with stars. I love them so much and have them everywhere but do I really want my home to be star themed? Not so sure but I do love them!

I love red, but I love the yellow walls too. I'm about to paint my almost finished mudroom, yellow. I think it will look great with white beadboard. I hope so anyway. I love all your roosters too. Thanks for sharing.

I love your new color! It looks great...as you have probably noticed I have almost all yellow walls. Everything just pops agaist them. I've thought about painting my kitchen, but there's no color I like better than yellow. I love how you frame calendar prints too, wonderful idea!! Kristen

I love both the yellow and the red on your walls. They are both lovely colors. I am a rooster kind of gal, so I will say add a couple of more rooster. Everything looks beautiful!

I love how you changed from red to yellow-it is perfect!
I like rooster accents, to, but don't want a "Rooster" kitchen, also, so I get what you are saying!
Nice job!!!

I LOVE the red with the yellow/gold! I just painted my kitchen yellow and have white bead board. Never thought of RED as the accent. Looks FABULOUS!

I love roosters, too. Your curtains are adorable and they don't scream rooster.

[I can so relate to "can't stop buying them but don't want a rooster kitchen." I have one on display and FIVE put away in my kitchen cabinets. Yikes! I keep telling them they will have to wait their turn.)
