Shoot Me - I Use Fake Plants!

I did this little arrangement of geraniums yesterday afternoon. I love this harlequin trunk I bought a while back and thought some colorful flowers might look good in it. YES, they are fake, of course - shoot me! Why do I feel like I have to defend my use of fake plants in my house? Do any of you feel that way? I don't have a lot of them, but I do have some and like them. I saw some cute little arrangements in Michaels the other day I want to copy. I love color and this is one more way to bring it in. Hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Girl, so do I! I think it was given a bad name when Oprah said people should never have them in their homes. Well, if I had Oprah's floral budget, I'm sure all mine would be fresh, too! Sheesh!

Oh no defence needed....fake plants are the best and knowadays I think sometimes you have to touch them to find out. My display on my breakfast table are fake....and it works well...after all to spruced them up and clear off dust a quick rinse and shake under the shower head and all as new.

Me too!! Some of them are better than the real thing so why feel defensive. I have one that my family didn't realize was fake for months!

I am a fake plant user as well. Shoot us both!!!

That's what she said said...

I love my fake flowers. Between cats & a black thumb fake is the only way.
However, I like you defend my fake plant usage.

Love the little harlequin trunk! So many of the faux plants look real these days there's no need not to use them. But I guess it's because some people have over done the fake flower thing. They're every where you look and dusty!

I think in the middle of winter when the world is dull gray or covered in white, bright colorful flowers makes perfect sense to me fake or not!

You use them and love them - that's what I think.

Fake plants are great--you don't have to remember to water them! :)

Let me take a stand, I have silk flower arrangements all over my house and I love them.Either from Michaels or Sam's Club. On my porch, I have a green pepper plant that the squirrels won't leave alone and a Christmas Catus, that is determined to survive. And the rest on the porch are silk also. We only stay here for thr winter, so it works for me.

Hugs, Chris

Angie, I love the harlequin box!! So elegant yet homey - and the geraniums! I vote for artifical flowers. Today's look so real and are maintenance free! Can't beat that. Till later - Sharon

The arrangement looks so cute! Go ahead and use fake ones. I do too! I was not born with a green thumb so it is just better off that way.

By the way....LOVE the green spray painted items as well. C-U-T-E!!!!

This is so cute! I love the container you found. The black and white with the red flowers is so pretty together. You know, I use fake too. I also love your ribbon holder too. What a creative idea! Have a great day!

I think the arrangement is beautiful, and we don't all have the budget to buy fresh every week! Any bit of color and nature looks gorgeous in the winter!

Blessings your way,

Hi there Angie! I'm guilty too! If I get my hands on some faux geraniums like those, you'll be seeing them in my house too!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I'll be expecting to see some after pictures of that antique radio cabinet real soon!

What a cute arrangement. Loved your title of this post! You're right-we seem to feel guilty about using fake plants (like it's our dirty little secret). If they look like yours, I sure don't think we need to feel guity. laurie
