Pantry Screen Door

I saw this idea somewhere and thought it was so cute. Ofcourse, the one I saw that was so cute had all the food and stuff inside all organized into baskets and bins which is my goal to do one day.

My sweet and wonderful husband saw the screen door in someone's trash while he was jogging. He went back later and got it and I was thrilled. I have looked at new ones at Lowe's and Home Depot many times, but wanted one for really cheap. He cut it and pieced it together so it would fit the opening. He painted it black and distressed it. I can't take credit for any of it because he did it all. I did get the fake crystal knob for it though. It was something I already had. He also put molding on the front of each shelf and black and white checked wallpaper on the back wall.

I know I'm probably crazy to have a pantry where you can see everything inside, but I haven't regretted doing it. Like I said, my goal is to have cute baskets, bins, jars, and different kinds of containers to hold everything. It just hasn't been a priority yet. I'll let you know if I ever get it to look pretty. I hope you all have a wonderful and creative weekend! I am going to do some scrapbooking with a good friend of mine so I'm excited! Oh yeah, and we'll be hitting some yard sales too ofcourse!

I have been wanting to do that for a few years..waiting to find a cute one second hand. I love yours. Your dh is waaaaaaayyy sweet. He would have to be! I sewed a ticking skirt and added it in my pantry for some color and to hide the bottom half. cherry

If I had a pantry I would definitly do this. I tried to suggest it to my friend and she just gave me a look. Works for some but not for others.

Love your pantry door and the knob too.

Those calendar prints as artwork are great. Your green wall looks the same color as mine. Do you remember the name of the color. The shutter with pics hanging from it is an neat idea too. Looks like you have been busy.

Angie! that door looks great...love the glass knob. My hubby "dumpster dumps" for me quite often, hey, it saves money! We put a french door separating the kitchen from the laundry room and I hung a lace panel from half-way down it. That way, you can't see into the old ugly laundry room/pantry but get a little peek at a pretty lace panel and little lamp glowing on the dryer. I'll show that when I post finished pics of the kitchen.

Angie.......I love your pantry/screen door. I found a screen door in a neighbor's trash one day....painted it black/put a board behind it, painted that with chalkboard paint and it is now my laundry room door. I can't imagine my kitchen without it. You have great style. AS soon as I find the time, I'm going to read your whole blog. Just went back to school....so my blog time has been cut into...haha.
