Master Bedroom

I was going for a cottagey, kinda vintage look in our bedroom when I decorated it. It has changed several times in the five years we have lived here and I'm sure will be changed again in the future. The curtains and pillowcases are from one of my favorite fabrics, Waverly Vintage Rose. I have a comforter in the same pattern, but I can't handle a white/cream colored background because I'd be afraid of how dirty it would get. I got it from a garage sale and it is in my attic until I decide what to do with it. My comforter is usually never on my bed. Our two dogs sleep with us and they shed A LOT! So, we have a beautiful ( I'm being sarcastic) dark green sheet that stays on top of our other sheet in order to catch the dog hair. Can anybody out there sympathize? Did you notice we have a fireplace? I bet you don't have one in your bedroom. We are so rich - NOT!!! It's one of those fake fireplaces from Lowe's. I like how it looks in the room and it gives me another surface to decorate. That's always a plus! My bed and nightstands were black until a few months ago when I painted them an off-white color to lighten things up and look better with the window cornices my husband built. My husband built the headboard too. He's pretty darn handy! You didn't think I married him for love, did you?! I'm just kidding! My mother-in-law is reading this and wondering what kind of chick her precious son married. Look at the third picture and you will see an alcove to the right of the bed. I didn't post a picture, but it's where our TV is and also an antique cedar chest. That small alcove used to be the closet for this bedroom. I can't imagine my husband and I having to keep our clothes in that space. So, we don't have a closet in our bedroom. Well then, where is our closet? I know you are absolutely dying to know the answer. You'll have to check me out tomorrow to find out. I hope you'll be able to go about your day not knowing and highly anticipating tomorrow's post. Have a wonderful day!

Hi Angie,

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Your room is so cozy and inviting. I know what you mean about dog hair. We have 3 of them so we are swimming in it. Only one dog sleeps with us though. She tunnels her way through the sheets down to our feet. The other dog (a beagle) snores too loud, so he sleeps on the floor with our border collie. Anyhoo, guess you probably didn't need to know our sleeping arrangements but you got it anyway. Have a good evening.

So pretty!! I love it! What if you used your cream bedspread folded up at the end of your bed? I love to do that. I really wondering where you keep your clothes but the thing I am most wondering about is what is on the top right of the first picture? It looks like a vase with ivy floating in the air. :) I'm curious!

It is beautiful!! You have done a great job (with much help from your hubby). I love the way you painted the nightstands to match the cornices. I thought the fireplace was real. You have such a talent for decorating. I LOVE visiting you!

Ha-ha! yes, I WANT to know where you store your clothes! Shame on you to leave us all hanging like that!:) But your bedroom really is beautiful and cozy and your hubby did an AWESOME job on your cornice boxes & headboard! I want cornices now! I also love that dresser, so unusual. I will be back tomorrow! :) ~ Laurie
