Architectural Pieces

I just love old architectural pieces. I am talking about stuff off old houses. Aren't they called architectural pieces or am I trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about but I'm really wrong? Anyway... I like old columns, windows, railings, moldings, stuff like that. They are interesting to look at and add some character to a characterless house like my 1973 ranch. We have scavenged at my husband's grandmother's house and found some neat pieces. I didn't do anything to them but hang 'em.

Sorry about the dark pictures! They are dark when I don't use the flash, but too bright when I do. I love the white chippy paint. I have some other pieces I want to show, but I got tired of loading pictures so I'll save them for another day. I can't believe I'm doing a post at 8:40 in the morning. I'm up early today! I didn't go to bed until 2am so I am still very sleepy! Well, off to get a few things done before my son wakes up. Have a great day!

I believe architectural pieces would be correct. They do add so much character. My house is also a 1978 ranch, and it has a long way to go. Then new roof just went on and now for the inside a little piece at a time. By the way all of your pieces are great, and I love you decorationg style. Jackie

Yep...that is what they are called! I love them and I love yours...I have a potting bench that I call a hutch...That has some pieces from my hubby's small town...I love history and when you can have history that brings you back to your roots...well that is even better...I love how you hung the plates on the column...I love your home...It is full of warmth and character...and of course history! Love, meme

I love your architectural pieces! I would love to find more. I bought a column at a florist's going out of business sale. It is solid! I paid $15.00 and after reading your post today, I will be posting about you and add my picture of my column. I love your home! I am going to be a big ol' copy cat! :o)

I love these! All of them. I have a question, could I see more of your door? The curtains look really cute from the top, and I would like to see the rest. If you don't mind that is!!

I am gonna be on the lookout for some of these 'architectural pieces'.
