Lampshade Redo

Doesn't this plain shade look much happier with the addition of some trim and a $1 garage sale lamp base? I think so. Have a fabulous Friday everybody!!!

I love adding little bits of trim to pieces like this! I usually pick up these "scrap" trims at a great fabric place that carries designer fabrics and trims. They put 1-2 yard pieces into plastic bags and sell them. So much more affordable and most of the time I only need these little bits. Love the way it turned out!

Just wanted to tell you that I stole your black window idea...made mine almost identical to yours...I hope you don't mind.

If you want to see pics, you can see them at my blog. Thanks Ang for all the inspiration and for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Love it! It reminds me of the Colonial era and I adore the the style of decorating from the designs of homes to decorations of that time. In fact the wreaths upon your red front doors reminded me a lot of what I saw when I visited Historic Williamsburg in VA. I had always liked using fruits in holiday decorations, but it wasn't until I visited Williamsburg I realized just HOW much potential there was when using them, especially fresh fruits or dried.
