Kitchen Window - Again!

Y'all are gonna be so sick of seeing my kitchen eating area and are probably wondering if I can ever make up my mind about the window treatment. I have always had a valance up there and never tried long curtains. Well, I put these up there and LOVED them! It was like instant warmth and coziness which is what I love, especially during the winter. These curtains are actually a sheet I made into a shower curtain and has been in our master bath for years. I love the fabric! I cut down the middle and now have 2 panels. I am not even sure I am going to sew the edge because you can't even tell. If I want it really sewed my mom will have to do it. My version of sewing is using my trusty hot glue gun. You can't see the bottoms in the picture, but I am going to have to add some fabric because they are too short. I still have my tree in here as you can see. I took the ornaments off today. I think I am going to leave it and decorate it for Valentine's Day and maybe Easter too. I may just leave it up and never take it down! It is not in the way and I love having the lights on. Hope your weekend was great and that your Monday will be too!

Wow, how innovative! I never would have known the panels were actually a shower curtain. I think it looks beautiful and your wall color makes the curtains pop which brings lots of warmth to the room. Great job! Liz

P.S. Happy 2010! =)

It is so good to know that I am not the only schizophrenic/multiple personality with my curtains in my dining area. I must have gone through 5 last year. I know what I really want, but either can't afford it or haven't found it. The shower curtain idea is wonderful. Thank you so much for the inspiration!! ;0)

Love the long drapes. Great way to reuse the shower curtain/sheet.

I liked the valance, but the drapes are just perfect.

I'm not a sewer either, but I have made a complete set of no sew tab top curtains by using Heat-n-Bond or Stitch Witchery. It's so easy to use. But you're right, they hang so nicely, no one would know there isn't a finished seam down the sides.

You're right it looks colder!lol This material is just gorgeous! Love the red and I think your idea of decorating the tree for valentine's day is a great one! Wish I visited before I took the tree down!lol Happy New Year - Sincerely, Jeannette

I like ALL of your ideas!

This year I've decided to keep a small year-around tree as well. I'm using the small angels and hearts that I had on my Christmas tree, for our Valentine's tree. I can't wait to see what you come up with!! I'll need ideas from you for our Easter tree :)

Oh Angie, it looks wonderful! And adds warmth around the windows, I'm sure. Isn't it amazing what changing things up can do for a room? Personally, I could look at this room every single day and I would never be bored. And I love that tree too!

Looks great as usual Angie. I'm in the process of redoing my dining room too - changing colors and the whole bit. I'm in a mess to say the least. Love the curtains and I don't blame you - nobody will ever know they aren't sewn. And your tree would be wonderful for the upcoming holidays - you could make "heart salt dough" ornaments for Valentine's Day. But then again - you don't need any suggestions from me - you are the queen of decorating ;-) Have a great one! Cathy

Love the LONG red curtains! It looks fabulous! I am going to try to keep a smaller tree up to decorate for different holidays too if my husband will tolerate it! tee hee

Angie, they look FANTASTIC! I love them in your kitchen/dining area! :) And as for your Christmas tree, why not? It looks so wonderful where you have it! :)

We still have our "kitchen tree" up and have put it in the living room. But, it is our Valentine's Day tree now! I also still have our garland on the mantel, too. It is so pretty and I love the extra light on these dark winter days...Will you show us how you decorate yours if you do? I always love seeing how you decorate!

I hope you are having a great week! :)

You are very clever and I bet saved lots of money re-using your shower curtain in your kitchen as curtains. I liked your black valance but I really love the red curtains. I use black in my home too as a nice accent color but I LOVE red - nothing pops like red. Your home is lovely and I enjoy looking at photos of it. I'm looking forward to seeing your new front door. I never was crazy about double doors myself. And that new door will bring light into your foyer.
