I'm Back and Changing Things Around, Of Course

Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas like I did! It was so much fun this year since my son is getting older (2 and a half) and into the whole excitement of it all. I have taken down a few things in the kitchen, but all the trees and other decorations are still up. I'll start getting serious about taking it down in a few days. I promised myself I would be more organized this year about packing the stuff up and label boxes so I don't have to keep opening them up to see what's inside. I am always changing things around as a lot of you can relate to. I seem to change my kitchen the most, I guess 'cause it's the easiest room to do. I took down the black and white checked valance in my office/guest bedroom and put it in the kitchen. I bought 2 black and white plates at HL and put them on my plate rack with a rooster plate in the middle. Not sure I am liking it as good as I do my red toile. I always do this - think I want a change and then don't like it as much as the way I had it before and change it back again. But, I love doing it so it's o.k. Hope y'all have a terrific Tuesday!

It's always nice to change things up a bit! If you like it, that's all that matters. As you say, if you don't, you can easily change it back.

This year when I take down all the Christmas decor in the kitchen...my kitchen will be naked! You see...we were still working on the re-model in there when Christmas came around...a blank canvas...should be lots of FUN! HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family!

Blessings,
Linda

Hi Angie.
It is so fun having Christmas with young children! :o) Even though our children are teens, there is still that fun magic that comes in!! They still sleep in each other's rooms on Christmas eve. :o)
Your decorating looks fresh and organized. I like to get my Christmas things tucked back away too, and I am gradually organizing them as well. :o)
We use red storage boxes, so they kind of stand out in the attic. :o)
I hope you all have a very Happy New Year.
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas. I'm sure your son was a blast to watch this year. I admire how much you change things around. I would love to do that more, but honestly, sometimes I just don't have the energy! LOL I like the changes you've made. Live with it a few days. If it's not knocking your socks off, change it again!

Hi Angie!
As usual, I LOVE it!
I love those black plates-I have seen them at HL, but can't work it into my house...yet. I am glad to see you did, and it looks fab.
I haven't started taking down Christmas stuff yet, usually by now I have it done-but still a bit sick...You motivate me to get started, though-
Happy New Year!!!

I like the black...but the red is pretty too. Seeing your valance has inspired me to finish a project of my own that I started and never finished.

this has nothing to do with your post but i wanted to ask! what color yellow is that that your'e using? and have you ever tried pairing it with blue, red and white? i'm just curious as to how it would look because i'm trying to look for a new color for the whole main part of the house and i need a color that is sort of neutral that will look good with all of my seasonal decor. THANKS!

I think when you change things around a little everything seems brighter and new, even if it's not. Love what you've done. Mimi

Change is good. And changing again is good. All good in my book. I think we have the very same yellow-painted kitchen. I might have said that before; can't recall!

Oh, I LOVE the "new" valance you hung in your kitchen and how it goes so well with your new plates! The yellow in the rooster plate coordinates great with the yellow on your wall, too! The picture made me happy just looking at it! :)

I am glad to hear your Christmas was a good one and hope your New Year's is equally wonderful! :)

Take care and many blessings, :)

I love your long red curtains! The plate rack looks great next to the window and I noticed you change the plates out. I have a similar rack between my two windows, and I sure need some black plates. Who is the maker of your black plates?
also, I am new to your blog, found it thru Ribbonwood Cottage!
