New Arrangement on Kitchen Wall

I have changed what I have on this wall in my kitchen several times and am finally pretty satisfied with what I've done. Maybe I'll leave it like this for a while. I had my husband cut a long shutter in half (bought for $1 at a yard sale) and I dry brushed some apple green paint over the black. Then I added some cute knobs from Hobby Lobby so I can hang stuff from it. I hung a framed calendar print above the shutter. I love that I can easily change out what have hanging on the knobs and also the picture. I have lots of calendars that I buy for the prints in them. Hope y'all are having a great Monday!

I adore shutters and I just love what you did with yours!
I have admired your red paint for a while now. I can't wait to be bold with paint when we buy our new home... ah heck, I may just go out and buy some for my current home
Thanks for the inspiration~

I love it! That is ingenius! Do you think it would work with an indoor shutter with the bar on the slats to slide it up and down? Does that make sense? I have a lot of those lying around in our basement and I think that your rack idea would be a great way to repurpose them! Oh, I am also hosting a giveaway on my blog... www.obsessedinsanity.blogspot.com

This is so charming. I would never have thought to hang the shutter sideways. I love it, and putting a hook on it is the icing on the cake! laurie

Love that shutter idea! I would totally tuck some vintage paper ephemera between the slats to peek out here and there. Thanks for the idea!
