Goodwill Bed

I bought this single bed for $7 at Goodwill. I was so excited because I had been looking for one for my guest bedroom/office. I added two finials on the posts, a medallion in the center, and then spray painted it black. I am thrilled with how it turned out. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Try to stay cool!

I love the black with the green. I'm thinking of painting my laundry room apple green with blue, black and yellow accents. Sounds busy, but I believe it will work. You, along with "Like Merchant Ships" has inspired me to do more beautifying of my home with what I already have. Check out my little project post. It's not much, but it's a start.

That looks awesome!

Can I ask where you bought the finials? I just bought a queen 4 poster bed at a thrift shop for $30 and it was missing the finals on it.

I can't believe it, but I just bought a similar bed at a garage sale! I paid $15, though :(
I LOVE what you did-I am thinking of what color to paint mine-red? black? a prettier white?
I am so inspired with yours-mine does not have the footboards, though...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what you did!!!

Angie - this did turn out great! I love the idea of adding the medallion to give the bed a little more character, and the finials look like they've always been there. Beautiful combination - and painting it black was smart too - looks super chic, and at $7!?!? I can hardly believe it!

You're so funny! I really do think my neighbors are out of town. But if they're not back by Sunday, I will leave a note. I guess it couldn't hurt. I'll keep ya posted.

It's beautiful - you did an awesome job. My papaw buys old beds all the time and turns them into benches. And I've always told you - we'd get along real good - 'cause my bedroom is green accented completely in black and white :) I guess we think alike!

Thanks for sharing all your great ideas! Cathy
