I bought this pair of lamps for $5 last Sat. at a yard sale. I really like the shape and size of them. I like the barrel shape of the shades too, but they are just too big so I found some shades at Target and covered them in some fabric from Joanns. Originally I was going to paint the lamps and then decided that I like the white and the wheat motif and am going to leave them the way they are. I am really liking how interesting vintage lamps are and am going to be on the lookout for more of them. I love them on this piece in my living room and am enjoying the extra light they give to this area of the room. There are lots of yard sales tomorrow and I am looking forward to finding more treasures...like I need more stuff! Have a wonderful weekend!

I buy vintage lamps a lot! Yours are great. I love the newly covered shade with it too!
These are really pretty, Angie! I think the color in your new fabric covered shades complements the wheat in the lamp.
Those look so good. You did a great job on those shades.
I love how they turned out. The shades are perfect for them!!
Angie they are so different. They look fantastic how you changed the shade to fabric and arranged the tray in the center. Fabulous! :)
Wow...that really worked!

These lamps are so pretty. I just love the fabric and design on them. My goodness you are so clever.
I like your whole arrangement on the dresser as it goes together well.
I may go out hunting this weekend, too.
I adore vintage lamps and I am always on the lookout for them. I love yours, they look adorable with the covered shades.

There are vintage dishes available with that same pattern! These lamps are wonderful!
Absolutely love the shade, goes so well with the lamp. Cute stuff.

Your lamps turned out great! The other shades were WAY too large and took away from the wheat design!! Love the fabric you chose! I just did this with burlap and love how they turned out!
Those turned out SO beautifully, I think the wheat pattern is PERFECT for a french country room!
I love how you made over these lamps. They remind me of the wheat dishes that were popular many years ago. I think you got them from detergent. The new shades are the perfect touch!
Stop on over for the giveaway.
Angie, Angie - these are PERFECT. You did them justice with your new shade treatment and you absolutely should NOT have painted them - good girl. They are beautiful just the way they are. And the colors are perfect for your amazing home! Just another wonderful fix up from The happy homebody! Thanks for sharing!
Adorable and LOVE those shades. Mimi
LOVE them! Your blog is such a delight! I enjoy your pics so much!
They look fantastic Angie!!! I LOVE me some yard sale and thrift store lamps!!! And my cousin just taught me how to rewire them too!!
The shade looks fantastic!
I love the new lamps and with those shades- well- that just made them look even more amazing.
I have a huge favor to ask.. Is there anyway possible you'd be willing to do a tutorial on covering a lampshade with fabric??
thank you
Sonny
