My Living Room

Here is my living room, the place I spend a lot of time in whether I'm reading, watching T.V., or spending time with my family. I think it reflects the kind of decor I like - some french country, a little vintage, pretty colorful, warm and cozy. I know I feel happy when I'm in here and that's what's important. I have such a love affair with my home as most of you do too. That's why I enjoy blogging so much because I can relate to you out there who love to try to create a pretty home for your family and for yourselves. And most of you - like me - try to do it inexpensively and put your own hard work into it. I don't want a house that's all matchy matchy and looks like a model home or something out of a catalog. I want my home to be a collection of new and old things I have gathered over the years that I just enjoy being around and looking at. I will never be "done" with my house because I always have something up my sleeve I want to do. Do y'all know what I mean?

  8. Ooo, I love it! It's go fun to put random photos you've posted all together into an entire room! And, I'm with you... matchy matchy is boring and uninspired, I think. Love the warmth of your home. I'd feel cozy here anytime!

  12. I love your living room. You even gave me an idea for the big blank wall above my fireplace. I had a major brainstorm looking at your room. I have to complete my monthly report for work tonight but maybe I can get on my idea tomorrow and show it off by the weekend. Your colors are so great!

  21. Oh my gosh...love it all! And I especially love your painted brick fireplace...painted brick is one of the best things in the world, along with architectural "stuff" - I have a whole wall of window frames, grates, and iron fence pieces!

  24. Oh my...I am drooling! This is "my" style. Now I have a picture in my head of what I want for our living room. I love those colors. French country is definitely a style that makes you feel cozy while at the same time keeping a certain level of sophistication. I totally agree about the "matchy-matchy" stuff...blah!

    Thanks for sharing this!
    God bless you!!!

  36. I just love all of it! I love the colors and the feel of everything! I totally know what you mean about not wanting your home to feel all matchy. There is nothing that bugs me more than feeling like you went into someone's home and the just went to the furniture store and bought the whole vignette. No creativity! But you my friend have creativity oozing from your fingertips!

  48. What a fantastic room! So warm, welcoming and done in my fave color scheme. I was reading "all about you" and we've much in common. I love, love, love Def Leppard and have seen them to many times to count. Just saw them again earlier this year. What a blast that was! We seem to like the same movies as well & I'm also in the process of reorganizing my laundry room! How funny! Oh! and I'm a happy homemaker too! To fab!
Come and say hi anytime! I enjoyed my visit here very much.

  53. Hello!! Sorry I have been away for such a long time...but just in time to see your living room and laundry room! I love them both, so happy, friendly, warm & inviting. A cheerful place to be and makes you want to smile. That's the best type of decorating! And your laundry room is so well organized! How do you do it?! With mine I usually have to force the door open with all the piles of laundry my kids throw in there when I nag them to clean their rooms! And some of it's still folded! agh! I posted a little project that I nagged..er..begged..er...persuaded my husband to help me on. Not sure if you have already attempted one yourself with your handy hubby but swing on by and take a look! It's a few posts down on my blog. I will be stopping by again real soon! Have a great weekend! ~ Laurie

I have red walls only I went and painted all of mine red in my adjoining dining and living room, but now I am thinking I need to paint a couple of the walls another color and would love to know that creamy color on your living room walls with the red, It's awesome and looks so Great!
