An Initial Ornament

I made this initial ornament and plan on making several more to put on this tree in my foyer. All I did was glue scrapbook paper and a letter painted black onto a small piece of wood. The letters come in packs at HL and the wood pieces also come in packs. I think they came from Michaels. Then I glued a piece of ribbon to the back as the hanger. I think it would look better with something else added to it to jazz it up, but I'm not sure what. I'm not good at embellishing things so I'm open to suggestions. Or, maybe it's fine as is. I'm not sure. Well, I'm off to make more ornaments. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

  2. I think it looks great the way it is. But a little glitter always helps "spruce" things up when your not quite sure what else to do. At least that's what I always turn to anyways :)

  6. This is precious! It looks beautiful as is - truly, but if you want a variety, you could add some black fringe or ribbon around the outside.

  15. What a great idea! I think I'm going to make a few for my tree. I sure do love monograms.

My mom had bought this paint at Walmart called "Fluer di les" (sp??). It's a deep reddy color that she painted a bookcase with. When I saw the name of the paint today, I totally thought of you!!

  19. I love your initial ornament! I think it looks very cute as is, but if you still wanted to add something to it, Michaels has these wonderful adhesive sparkly gems and adhesive ribbon...(I'm so addicted to these!)
But as I said, it also looks wonderful just like it is! :)

  21. It is really cute. If you wanted to add anything else I would add some sort of border. Just to give it more depth.
