Christmas in My Dining Room

Here is my dining room all dressed up for Christmas. For those of you who look closely and inspect pictures like I do you will be able to see that I have some painting to do. The bottom part of the wall under the chair rail in the right side of the room is an olive green color. I have got to paint it the same as the top like I did in the rest of the room. I started it a few months ago and never came back to it. I am not very fond of painting. I'm O.K. for a while, but I lose steam quickly and just want it to be finished. I'll get to it probably this weekend. I love my deer on the table that I got at Michaels. He was just right to use as a centerpiece. As you can probably tell from what I've shown so far, I like to use a lot of lights around. They just make everything look pretty and Christmasy. My husband was so cute today. He came home for lunch and was disappointed that I didn't have all the lights turned on. He told me he wants them on when he comes home. Isn't that sweet? He enjoys them as much as I do!

Christmas in My Foyer and Some Awards

This is the first time I have put a tree in my foyer and I have really enjoyed it. I like how you can see it when you walk in the backdoor (look at the last picture) which is the entrance we use and usually when someone comes over they come to the back. I have double front doors which are a pain because you have to have two of anything you want to hang on the outside. Since only one of the doors is used, I decided to use the other side as another space to decorate so that's where the tree is. My husband put the tree in an urn and I decorated it with red fleur de lis and gold ornaments. I made the toile star by gluing some fabric to a wooden star from Michaels. I'm pretty happy with how everything looks in here. I'll post dining room pics tomorrow!

I have 2 more wonderful awards to share with you. Heather at Family Forever (www.mrstuxtattoo.blogspot.com) gave me this award:

Adam and Jessica at www.thepelkeysblog.blogspot.com gave me this award:

Thank you so much for the sweet awards!!!

Christmas Kitchen Table AGAIN and Some Awards

Well, this makes three different things I've done on my kitchen table and I think I'll stick with it and not change again. I put out some Santa placemats which I'm sure my son will be pulling off as soon as he notices them. I wrapped some boxes in my pretty Hobby Lobby paper I shared with you last week and put greenery around it. I used my $1 yard sale bowl to put everything in. I'm pretty satisfied, but there are always much cuter ideas out there. I just want to use stuff I have and not have to spend much money. I am going to try to stay away from HL and Michaels because I can't seem to leave those places empty handed. Ya know?!

I am the worst person to give an award to because I take forever to post about it. I am going to try to be better and not be so slack. I really do appreciate the awards and feel very flattered that people actually read and like my blog.

Erin (www.shadesofcolorpoci.blogspot.com) gave me this award:

Jenni at (www.nesttokeep.com) gave me this award:

Coco (www.ordinarymiracles-coco.blogspot.com) gave me this award:

I have 2 more I'll post about tomorrow. Thank you for the awards!!! I'm going to post pics of my foyer and dining room this week. I am having so much fun seeing everyone's homes all dressed up for Christmas. There are some extremely talented women out there!

Christmas in My Kitchen Part 2 and Friday Favorites

Here's some more of the decorations in my kitchen. As I'm posting the pictures I keep seeing things I would change or add to. Can anyone relate? The more I decorate, the more I want to do. There's just not enough time for all the projects. As you can probably tell, my favorite thing this Friday is CHRISTMAS DECORATING! LOVE IT!!!

Beautiful Wrapping Paper

I bought this beautiful wrapping paper last week at Hobby Lobby. It is Christmas paper, but obviously you can use it all year long because it doesn't have anything Christmasy on it. I bought it not only to wrap gifts, but I can envision using it for all kinds of projects - covering the back of a bookcase, decoupaging it onto plates, decorating trays, covering books, and lots of other stuff. The rolls are big - 100 sf. They were $6.99 and 50% off, so $3.50 per roll. There were other cute ones with polka dots and other prints. The last picture (black and white) is one I got last year. I'm not sure if they are on sale this week or not. I may have to go back and get more. I'm sure you'll be seeing this paper on some future projects!

Some Christmas Stuff

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I did! Here are some centerpieces on my dining room and kitchen tables. I put beads in the bottom and poured in water and then added the floating candles.

I switched out the plates on my plate rack in the dining room and put out my Christmas china.

I have had this NOEL print for years and it is one of my favorites. I took down a rooster picture in the dining room and hung it in its place.

I have got to get back to my Christmas decorating so I can finally be finished! My main tree has been up for two days, but has no lights or anything on it. Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow. Have a great Monday!
