Just whipping out a quick post to show y'all how the hutch is looking right now. I will be putting out my Fall and Halloween stuff in the next few weeks so this will all be changed. You can see what the piece looked like when I bought it in my previous post. I'll do a longer post next week and tell y'all about what I did to it. Have a wonderful weekend!

Still Alive and Still Decorating, Of Course!!!
Yes, y'all...I am still alive and still decorating like always! I haven't posted in so long and this Blogger thang has changed so I am going to try to do a little post to see if I can figure everything out. I am sure I'll have to get my smart techy hubby to help me 'cause I am very technologically challenged! Hope y'all are all doing great and will welcome me back. I have missed blogging and will hopefully get back on some kind of schedule, even if it's just doing a post once a week.
Got a new/old hutch a while back from a consignment store. It is a good bit bigger than the other 2 I had in here. Yes, I am on my third hutch...crazy, I know. It looks nothing like this now, but I'll just show you the before today. I am forever changing what I have on it. Hope y'all have an awesome day!

New Wall Arrangement above Couch
A few weeks ago I changed what I had hanging on the wall above my couch. I left the old window that has been there a while and added an iron piece, wall pocket of greenery, and some framed botanicals on each side. The pictures are from a calendar I have had for at least 10 years. I got the 11x14 frames from Walmart ($5 each) and spray painted them black. I cut the pictures to 8x10s and used wrapping paper behind them to look like a mat. So, the project cost me just $20 for the frames. I am really liking the color it brings to that wall. And I love the fact that I can always change out the pictures when I want a new look. Hope y'all have been enjoying some gorgeous Spring days like we have been having here. Hopefully I'll be back in a few days!

Stove Hood Ledge
I change out what is on my stove hood ledge every once in a while. As you can see right now I have a clock, old window, and old architectural piece I got from my husband's grandmother's farm on it. I am liking this look so it will stay until I want something different up there. Hope y'all have had a great weekend and Happy Palm Sunday!

Word Verification
I feel like an idiot! I just looked at my settings and I guess I have had that dang word verification thing on ever since I started my blog and didn't even know it! So sorry for all you sweet folks who leave comments and have had to deal with that nuisance. I thought it was turned off. Oh well...have a great day!!!

Kitchen Additions
I added a few things to my kitchen eating area, a place I am always changing it seems like. I brought in a chair covered with this red toile and checks slipcover my hubby got me for Christmas from Pier One, a bunny pillow from Goodwill, and a plate rack from Hobby Lobby with some of my beloved green plates on it. I put the white plates behind them 'cause the salad plates looked too small by themselves. I have changed some stuff on the other side of the eating area I'll show you next time. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Thinking Spring
Are you already thinking of Spring/Easter decorating? I am! I love bunnies and colorful flowers and am ready for it. I put some yellow tulips (fake, guess I am out of style, but oh well) on my old window on my back porch and on my kitchen table. They make me smile! Gonna try to get back to blogging, even if it is just doing short posts like this one. I have missed y'all!

Kitchen Hutch
I absolutely love my kitchen hutch. It may be my most favorite piece I have. This is not the hutch that I painted green. This is the bigger hutch that was my Grandma's and was brown wood. I had wanted to paint it ever since I got it, but couldn't decide what color. I decided on white and am so glad I did. I also sanded it around the edges to give it a distressed look. I am already looking forward to decking it out for the fall and Christmas. I know y'all can relate to that! Hope y'all are having a great week. My son started Pre-K yesterday so I have had to cope with that...did some worrying and crying, but I am much better today. See ya soon!

Yes, I Am Still Alive!!!
Yes, I am still alive and well! Thank you to all you sweet gals who have checked up on me and I am so sorry I have totally neglected my blog for the past 6 1/2 months. I am not going to make any promises about when my next post will be 'cause I know how I am. But, I have been doing lots of decorating and redoing as always so I should have lots to show you. Here's a quick little project I did recently (well, hubby did) that is hanging in my kitchen. I got my sweety to cut off the back of an old ladderback chair I had and hung it on the wall by a jute string. I have a kitchen towel on it and am looking for something else to add, like a small sign. I need to look through my inspiration file and find something to make. Hope y'all have a great week! Wow, feels kinda good to be back!

Recovered Yard Sale Chair and Placemat Pillow
I have gotten 2 little projects done today - recovered this chair seat and made a pillow for it out of a placemat. The chair, rooster fabric, placemat, and pillow were all bought at yard sales last year. Love projects like this that are cheap and I already have the supplies I need. Hope y'all have a super Saturday!

From Red to Green
Well, I painted my kitchen hutch red and didn't like it at all. I'm sure I could have gone to the store and gotten a better red and it may have turned out o.k., but I decided to go a different route and paint it with some apple green paint I had. I painted and then aged it with some glaze and am really happy with it now. The color looks much better in person than in these pictures. Now comes the fun part - decorating it!

Kitchen Hutch Going Red
Do you ever have an idea pop in your head and don't really even think it through and just start going at it? Well, that's what happened to me about 30 minutes ago. I quickly emptied the drawers of the hutch, took off the hardware, and have been outside in the cold and wind spray painting it red. We'll see if I like it or not...hope I do. But, as we smart bloggers all know, it's just paint!

Polka Dot Runner
I am really trying to get my decorating mojo back. It has taken me a while to get back into decorating after putting up all my Christmas stuff. I love polka dots, especially black and white, so I made (hot glued) this runner for my kitchen table out of some fabric I already had. It makes me smile when I walk in the room. Hope y'all have a great Monday and I WILL be back later this week...promise.

Some More Christmas
Here are some pictures I took yesterday of some more of my Christmas decorations. Nothing like waiting to the last minute...that's me - Mrs. Procrastinator! Hope you and your families all have a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to another year of blogging and getting all kinds of wonderful inspiration from y'all!
